Respiratory Therapist RRT PRN Peds NICU

Medical City Healthcare is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist RRT PRN Peds NICU to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide high-quality respiratory care to neonates, infants, and pediatric patients in our NICU, pediatric ICU, and general pediatric care areas. You will assess, plan, and implement respiratory care interventions based on physician orders and established clinical protocols, ensuring safe, accurate, and age-appropriate treatment for each patient. As a PRN Respiratory Therapist, you will perform and interpret respiratory assessments, administer aerosolized medications, manage oxygen therapy, and initiate, monitor and troubleshoot invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation for neonatal and pediatric patients. You will assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitations, support transport of critically ill infants and children as needed, and respond rapidly to emergency situations such as codes and respiratory distress events. You will collaborate closely with neonatologists, pediatric intensivists, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to optimize respiratory status, participate in care planning, and provide clear communication with patients’ families regarding respiratory procedures and equipment use. Accurate and timely documentation of assessments, therapies, ventilator settings, and patient responses in the medical record is essential. This position requires strong clinical judgment in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, adherence to infection prevention and patient safety standards, and meticulous attention to equipment calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting. You will follow all hospital policies, respiratory care standards of practice and applicable state and national regulations while contributing to a culture of continuous quality improvement.
