Position: Payroll Specialist

Location: Remote

Schedule: Part-Time, 20 hours per week

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a part-time, remote basis. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Workday Payroll and On-Demand Pay, along with a strong understanding of payroll processing for a multi-state workforce. This role will support payroll operations for approximately 500 employees nationwide, ensuring payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Process and support payroll for approximately 500 employees across multiple states.
• Maintain employee payroll records within Workday.
• Review and audit employee time entry and timesheets for accuracy.
• Manage payroll adjustments, corrections, and off-cycle payroll requests.
• Support On-Demand Pay transactions and resolve employee inquiries.
• Ensure accurate processing of earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and direct deposits.
• Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and recordkeeping.
• Partner with Human Resources to ensure employee changes are accurately reflected in payroll.
• Respond to payroll-related questions from employees in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll laws and company policies.
• Filter and respond to inbound calls and emails

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience, preferably processing multi-state payroll.
• Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll.
• Experience with On-Demand Pay platforms or earned wage access programs.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and payroll best practices.
• Experience reviewing and auditing employee time entry.
• High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
• Experience supporting payroll for staffing, healthcare, or multi-location organizations is preferred.
