Work Environment

This full-time position is based onsite at our modern hospital facility in Laredo, Texas, where you will enjoy a collaborative atmosphere with a 40-hour workweek spread over five days. Your practice will be entirely clinic-based, allowing you to focus solely on patient care without the demands of on-call responsibilities. This structure promotes work-life balance and gives you the opportunity to devote your time to patient interactions and comprehensive care management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage your own patient panel while also addressing physician overflow, ensuring that all patients receive the attention and care they require.
• Work under the continuous support of attending Medical Doctors, allowing for collaboration in complex cases and enhanced learning opportunities.
• Perform a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including but not limited to IUD insertions, Nexplanon placements, endometrial biopsies, vulvar biopsies, and colposcopies (if trained).
• As needed, conduct circumcisions after obtaining the necessary training to provide comprehensive services to our patients.
• Participate actively in the Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) council, which provides leadership support and guidance within the practice.
• Engage in leadership training and mentorship opportunities to further your professional development and advance your career within the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve a diverse patient population, focusing on women’s health services that cater to both routine and complex cases. Our practice is enriched by the multicultural fabric of Laredo, allowing you to develop a unique rapport with patients from various backgrounds. The emphasis on comprehensive women’s wellness ensures that you play an integral role in fostering health education, preventive care, and personalized treatment strategies.

Qualifications

• A valid Physician Assistant Certification and an unrestricted state medical license in Texas are mandatory.
• Full COVID-19 vaccination is a prerequisite in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• A Bachelor’s Degree and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program are required, with a Master’s Degree preferred.
• Proven experience or training in Obstetrics and Gynecology is essential to effectively contribute to our patient care programs.
• Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) will be beneficial for seamless patient documentation and care coordination.

Preferred Experience

• At least one year of clinical experience is required, specifically in an OB/GYN setting, to ensure that you are well-prepared to offer high-quality care.
• Demonstrated expertise in active listening, critical thinking, effective communication, and time management will significantly enhance your impact and integration into our team.

Compensation and Benefits
