Providers are expected to skillfully assess and evaluate complex wound conditions, utilizing evidence-based practices to guide their interventions. Adapting care plans to suit the unique clinical needs of each patient is essential for optimal healing and recovery. Effective communication and meticulous attention to detail are critical, given the provider's role in coordinating care across interdisciplinary teams to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality, patient-centered services.Commitment to Best Practices and Quality ImprovementProviders are responsible for upholding a high standard of evidence-based clinical practice and compassionate care. They may also write orders, provide specialized wound care, and support complex surgical procedures as needed.Operational Leadership and Team CollaborationThis role plays a significant part in promoting and communicating operational, quality, and safety goals, standards, initiatives, and improvements within the department. Providers are tasked with identifying barriers to achieving these goals at the unit level of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Wound Care Centers and are expected to communicate these issues to leadership, seeking assistance as needed. They should create a positive, inclusive workplace by encouraging communication, teamwork, and a spirit of collaboration.Core DutiesPatient Assessment and Monitoring: Evaluate and monitor wounds of several types, including chronic, acute, surgical, and pressure ulcers.Treatment and Care Plan Management: Clean and dress wounds, perform debridement, and write orders to promote healing and prevent skin breakdown.
