Director of Revenue Cycle Management - Behavioral Health

Location: South Florida

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Compensation: $100,000+ annually, based on experience

Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt

A growing healthcare organization in South Florida is seeking an experienced Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) to lead and optimize its full revenue cycle operations.

This is a leadership position supporting continued organizational growth and program expansion. The Director will evaluate current revenue cycle, billing, and financial processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop a strategic action plan to improve revenue performance, efficiency, and overall operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in behavioral health revenue cycle management, along with hands-on knowledge of Netsmart, Florida Medicaid, Medicaid MCOs, Medicare, commercial payers, billing, denials, A/R, coding, and revenue-cycle analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full revenue cycle, including patient access, intake, eligibility, charge capture, coding, billing, denial management, A/R, and collections.

• Assess current RCM and billing operations to identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and revenue leakage.

• Develop and implement practical, measurable improvement plans.

• Monitor key performance indicators such as clean-claim rate, denial rate, days in A/R, and collection rates.

• Analyze denial trends and identify root causes related to documentation, authorization, credentialing, coding, or billing.

• Oversee accurate patient setup, eligibility verification, charge capture, coding, claim submission, payment posting, and related revenue-integrity functions.

• Manage provider and payer enrollment processes to minimize billing delays.

• Evaluate and improve Netsmart EHR billing configuration, claims workflows, and system processes.

• Maintain strong knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and Florida Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs).

• Develop RCM dashboards, reports, and financial metrics for executive leadership.

• Lead and develop revenue cycle staff.

• Partner with Finance, IT, Clinical Operations, Compliance, and other departments on process and technology improvements.

• Ensure billing and revenue cycle activities comply with applicable federal, state, and payer requirements.

• Use data and financial reporting to identify issues, prioritize improvements, and measure results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.

• 7+ years of progressive revenue cycle management experience.

• 2+ years of senior-level revenue cycle management leadership experience.

• Significant experience managing behavioral health revenue cycle operations.

• Experience with primary care, FQHC, community health center, or similar healthcare revenue cycle operations.

• Experience managing complex, multi-program and multi-payer revenue cycles.

• Netsmart EHR experience required.

• Florida Medicaid and Florida Medicaid MCO experience required.

• Strong knowledge of Medicare and commercial payer requirements.

• Strong expertise in claims processing, denial management, A/R, collections, coding, and revenue integrity.

• Experience with provider and payer enrollment.

• Strong analytical and KPI/dashboard experience.

• Demonstrated success with revenue cycle process improvement and technology optimization.

• Strong leadership, communication, project management, and change-management skills.

What You'll Be Doing Initially

The immediate focus will be on understanding the current operation before making changes.

The Director will:

• Review existing RCM, billing, programming, workflows, and systems.

• Gain an understanding of the current team and operational structure.

• Analyze revenue cycle performance and identify areas of opportunity.

• Determine the root causes of billing and revenue challenges.

• Develop a prioritized plan of action to improve processes and financial performance.

• Work collaboratively with leadership and internal teams to implement improvements.
