We're Hiring: Director of Operations! Leading People, Strengthening Systems, Elevating Care Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center (VNACJ CHC) is a federally qualified health center in Monmouth County, dedicated to offering accessible, high-quality healthcare to New Jersey residents. Our comprehensive services span preventive care, primary care, wellness support, mental health counseling, prenatal care, and more—all delivered in a compassionate, community-focused environment. With four locations serving families of all ages, we’re committed to providing care that meets the unique needs of each individual. Position Summary We’re looking for an operations leader who brings equal parts strategy, heart, and hustle. The ideal candidate knows how to support middle‑management teams, build clear communication pathways, and lead confidently in environments that value structure, operational excellence, and strategic foresight. This role oversees operations across multiple health center locations, ensuring seamless patient access, strong administrative performance, and clear accountability across all teams. What You’ll Lead People & Culture Champion a culture of excellence, collaboration, and positivity across the organization Support and develop office managers, ensuring they have the tools and confidence to run high‑performing sites Partner with the community outreach team to expand awareness and impact Lead initiatives that elevate patient satisfaction and overall experience Patient Access & Front‑Line Operations Oversee front‑desk operations with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and a welcoming patient experience Guide call center and scheduling operations (Phreesia) to ensure patients receive timely, seamless access Coordinate staffing across clinical locations using data and trends to anticipate needs and optimize resources Manage hours of operation across sites to ensure compliance and accessibility Administrative & Program Oversight Oversee programs such as LOA, NJCEED, P/E, and collections, ensuring consistency and strong support across all locations Facilitate cross‑department meetings to strengthen performance across medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and specialty programs Conduct daily operational reviews to ensure alignment with organizational goals and proactively mitigate risks Audit provider templates and ensure scheduling accuracy Revenue Cycle, Compliance & Systems Oversee key elements of Revenue Cycle Management, including scheduling, registration workflows, insurance verification, and denial‑prevention initiatives Work closely with IT to resolve EPM issues and support system improvements Lead cross‑functional projects that enhance compliance, performance, and patient experience Oversee equipment inspections, certifications, and licensing compliance Serve as Chair of the Emergency Preparedness Committee Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field Minimum 3 years of healthcare operations management experience; FQHC experience strongly preferred Proven success managing and developing middle‑management teams Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to operate independently Experience with Enterprise Performance Management systems (NextGen preferred) Familiarity with Revenue Cycle Management principles Exceptional communication skills — verbal, written, and interpersonal High proficiency in MS Office, including advanced Excel and data analysis Valid NJ driver’s license and ability to travel regularly as needed Why You’ll Love Working Here You’ll join a team that values kindness, collaboration, and creating a positive experience for both patients and staff You’ll have opportunities to grow through leadership development, continued learning, and meaningful career advancement You’ll enjoy a supportive workplace with competitive benefits, including comprehensive healthcare coverage Working Conditions/Physical Demand Business Office Environment with phone and computer use. In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the total compensation range for this position is USD $80,000.00 to USD $110,000.00. When determining an offer, VNACJ CHC considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's work experience, education/training, relevant skills, internal pay equity, and market and organizational conditions. The total compensation range reflects the total package, including base salary, overtime, bonuses, add‑on incentives, special clinical compensation, retirement plans, and all other benefits.
