Opportunity:

MedSurg/Tele Float Pool

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement of every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday)
• Work holiday rotation schedule with permanent staff
• Float between multiple units including 6N (36 beds), 7N (29 beds), 4N (36 beds), 5S (36 beds), 6S (36 beds), and Critical Care (20 beds)
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6 on most units (occasionally up to 7 patients toward end of shift)
• Report to clinical coordinator's office prior to shift start for unit assignment
• Must pass a cardiac rhythm exam
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• 1-2 shifts of orientation with preceptor
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Will not be required to titrate drips
• Care for patients with CHF, cardiac catheterization, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic, and oncology diagnoses
• Work with Phillips telemetry monitoring system
• Use EPIC charting system
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license with submission
• 2 shifts cancellation policy per 13-week contract

Facility:

This acute care facility operates as a Level 2 trauma center with multiple medical-surgical and telemetry units. The facility features modern equipment including Phillips telemetry monitoring systems and utilizes EPIC electronic health records. Each unit maintains dedicated charge nurses and certified nursing assistants to support patient care, with respiratory therapy services available for CPAP and BiPAP management. The facility emphasizes cardiac care capabilities and maintains comprehensive monitoring technology throughout its units.
