Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region as an Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer). This role involves performing patient ultrasound imaging services, creating detailed exam records for radiologist interpretation, and potentially assisting in other medical imaging areas as trained. Key Responsibilities Maintain schedule flexibility, punctuality, and availability while working effectively under pressure. Communicate complex information clearly, prioritize tasks, and coordinate multiple responsibilities efficiently. Provide personal care and safe patient transfers using adaptive equipment such as hoyer lifts and sliding boards. Exhibit strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills. Handle confidential materials in compliance with corporate policies. Participate in performance improvement initiatives and keep patients and their families informed about exam status. Perform ultrasound procedures according to departmental policies and regulatory guidelines, ensuring patient safety and accurate record-keeping. Education Completion of an ultrasound technology program is preferred; current enrollment in such a program is also acceptable. Experience At least one year of experience as a registered sonographer is preferred. Experience as a multi-modality technologist is a plus. Certification and Licenses Registered sonographer credentials such as ARDMS in OB or ABD, SDMS registration, or RT(S) registered by ARRT are required. Registry-eligible candidates must attempt certification within 30 days of hire and pass within 90 days. Alternatively, registered radiography technologists enrolled in ultrasound training may be considered under supervision with similar certification timelines. BLS certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory. Mental and Physical Requirements Close mental and visual attention for extended periods is necessary. The role often involves stressful situations due to patient conditions. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 35 lbs, and mobility throughout the department.
