This full-time, day-shift Medical Assistant role supports licensed nurses, physicians, and advanced practice providers in a fast-paced clinical environment. General Summary The Medical Assistant operates within their skill set to deliver patient care as delegated by clinical staff. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, detail-oriented, and able to multitask while maintaining excellent customer service and critical thinking skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention and safe patient handling. Provide direct patient interaction such as escorting patients, obtaining vital signs and EKGs, verifying medications and allergies, and documenting medical histories and visit reasons accurately and promptly. Manage phone communications, route messages, and assist with patient inquiries and test result follow-ups. Support medication renewals, authorizations, and administration (oral, IM, SQ) as ordered. Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens for laboratory analysis. Schedule appointments, surgeries, diagnostic procedures, and admissions as directed. Complete necessary paperwork including prior authorizations and referrals efficiently. Monitor and maintain supply inventory and exam room readiness. Educate patients on electronic health record access and assist with enrollment. Assist in orienting and training new medical assistants. Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, adaptability, and maintain punctuality and attendance standards. Education Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Medical Specialist program or equivalent experience. High school diploma required. Experience Preferred: One year of Medical Assistant or related medical specialist experience, especially in a clinical setting. Certification/License Preferred: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from an accredited organization such as AMT. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required. Mental/Physical Requirements Requires considerable mental focus. Physical demands include lifting up to 35 lbs., frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Working Conditions Exposure to infectious and communicable diseases and occasional interaction with hostile individuals. Minimal physical discomfort expected. MLee Medical Employment
