Location: Columbia, MO. The EAS laboratory, which has more than 50 employees servicing multiple portfolios, provides field services, residue analysis, and product chemistry contract research for North America. Successful candidates will be part of a diverse team collaborating to deliver high‑quality research to key markets. Associate Scientist Responsibilities Carries out somewhat complex routine experiments and procedures in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., DEA, EPA, FDA, FIFRA, OECD) as defined by protocol, method, and SOPs. May utilize new equipment and/or develop formulas, processes, and methods to solve technical problems under guidance. Analyzes organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties. Adheres to the schedule of Eurofins Agroscience or contracting organization, establishing daily or weekly routines for on‑time delivery. Conducts title/skill appropriate procedures with minimal supervision using laboratory equipment, computer resources, and institutional libraries. Prepares standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests. May conduct research on manufactured products to develop and improve them. Performs data analysis, first level review, and peer review of data for accuracy and completeness. Prepares reports of completed projects ensuring auditable quality for publication at contract completion. Collaborates with scientists and colleagues to prepare technical papers and reports. Qualifications Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills. Excellent communication—oral and written—and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self‑motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude. Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies. Basic Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, environmental studies, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or a directly related field, or a degree with comparable coursework. In rare cases, comparable demonstrated competency and experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree and experience. A minimum of two years of experience in a directly relevant area or demonstrated comparable competency and skill attainment. Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship. Additional Information Position is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with overtime and some weekend shifts required as needed.
