About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of postpartum experience License: Valid state nursing license Certifications: BLS, IV certification Must-Have: IV start skills Labor & delivery experience Experience with charting system Description: Schedule may require floating to units of similar acuity. Requires a minimum of 2 years of postpartum experience. BLS and IV certifications are mandatory. IV start skills and labor & delivery experience are essential. Experience with charting systems is necessary. Preferred qualifications include previous travel nursing experience. Interdisciplinary support is provided from various specialty teams. The unit provides family-centered care to women and infants. Nurse will be responsible for administering medications, including IV antibiotics. Skills in patient education, discharge teaching, and infant care are required. Telemetry interpretation skills are mandatory, and passing an EKG exam prior to start is expected. Patient ratios are generally 3-4 dyads, accommodating 6-8 patients per nurse. Healthy newborns and postpartum patients will be the primary focus. Special procedures may include care for postpartum readmissions and nas infants. The daily census is typically around 60 patients.
