The person in this role is responsible for the daily inspections, routine upkeep and minor corrective and preventive maintenance of hospital grounds and parking structures. They will be responsible for monitoring contractor services and addresses conditions between scheduled landscaping and snow-removal visits, positively contributing to patient, visitor and staff safety.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesMaintains safe, clean and professional hospital grounds, exterior areas and parking structures.Performs routine grounds upkeep between scheduled landscaping and snow-removal contractor visits.Removes litter, leaves, branches and other exterior debris.Completes minor trimming, weeding and landscaping touch-ups.Addresses minor snow and ice conditions between contractor services.Maintains three parking structures, including sweeping, trash removal, spill cleanup and clearing drains.Keeps entrances, sidewalks, ramps, stairwells and pedestrian routes clean and accessible.Inspects grounds and parking structures for hazards, damage and maintenance concerns.Monitors contractor performance and reports service deficiencies.Performs general maintenance duties inside the hospital as assigned.Completes minor repairs involving doors, hardware, walls, ceilings, flooring, plumbing fixtures and other building components.Assists maintenance staff with preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, room setups and special projects.Responds to assigned service requests and corrective maintenance work orders.Operates and maintains tools and equipment safely.Documents completed work and promptly reports conditions requiring specialized repair or contractor support.Customer Service ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members. This individual should consistently promote teamwork and direct communication with co-workers and deal discretely and sensitively with confidential information.Responsibilities in Quality ImprovementContribute by identifying problems and seeking solutions.
