The Field Service Technician is responsible for performing field service activities at customer sites in a safe and efficient manner. This role includes troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and diesel equipment, performing preventative maintenance, managing parts inventory, and identifying and resolving safety issues related to company and customer-owned equipment. The technician will work directly with customers across multiple sites and technologies and will use strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and provide effective solutions. Essential Responsibilities Create and maintain a safe working environment and culture within the organization. Perform field service activities and troubleshoot equipment at customer sites. Perform preventative maintenance and support the repair of mechanical, electrical, and diesel equipment. Identify and resolve safety issues involving company and customer-owned equipment. Manage and maintain parts inventory as needed to support field service activities. Take care of company property, tools, equipment, and vehicles. Communicate professionally with customers and provide effective solutions to service needs. Work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating the ability to work independently. Demonstrate accountability, innovation, and empowerment in support of a high-impact culture. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. 0–2 years of technical work experience; 1 year preferred. Experience in field service, mechanical, electrical, diesel, fusion, industrial equipment, or related technical work preferred. Skills Electrical, mechanical, diesel, and/or fusion experience depending on business unit. Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Experience using Microsoft Office applications and smart devices. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to synthesize technical information and communicate it clearly. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to develop solutions and solve problems in new and unexpected situations. Travel and Driving Requirements Daily local travel to customer sites is required, with overnight travel as needed based on business needs. This position requires operating a company vehicle. Candidates must have and maintain a valid driver's license and a clean driving record that meets company standards. Candidates must successfully complete all required driver, DOT, medical, and background screening requirements. Ability to obtain required customer site clearances, including TWIC, DISA, or other site-specific credentials, as needed. Compensation & Benefits The estimated pay range for this position is $27 to $29 per hour.
