Production Support Position

Summary Description This position supplies production with services, products and materials and assists operations as needed. Essential Duties Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned. Performs all work in a safe manner; promotes and fosters a clean, safe work environment. Able to charge batteries and refuel propane on lift truck. Supplies production with products, services and materials as needed. Operates automatic packaging machines, forklifts, conveyors and maintains taping and labeling containers. Loads variety of trucks such as vans, flat bed trailers, less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments and intermodal. Completes daily inspection on lift equipment, reports any associated maintenance problems and maintains proper fuel levels (battery or gas).

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent plus experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and ability. Must be able to:

• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures by using basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
• Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Certificate/License: Must have forklift operator license at time of hire/transfer or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire/transfer into job.
