The Spine Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will collaborate closely with pediatric orthopedic surgeons and a multidisciplinary spine team to provide comprehensive care for patients with both general orthopedic and spinal conditions. Responsibilities include the evaluation and management of a broad range of orthopedic diagnoses, assessment and treatment of spinal deformities, management of early-onset scoliosis with bracing, and coordination and evaluation of preoperative and postoperative care for patients undergoing spine deformity correction. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a highly specialized team dedicated to delivering exceptional, family-centered care to children with complex orthopedic and spinal conditions.

Advanced Practice Provider II (APP-II) provides proficient, comprehensive, evidence-based advanced practice nursing to address the physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients and families within the framework of the collaborative practice agreement. An APP II obtains a comprehensive health history; performs physical examination; formulates a plan of care and treatment; prescribes/performs diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and procedures; and participates in patient and family education. Each APP-II demonstrates professional leadership and participates in evidenced-based practice, quality improvement, and/or research activities, and organizational development.

\n
• Master's Degree and 1-2 years experience 1-2 years pediatric APRN experience with Masters. Exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis within preferred specialty. or
\n
• Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) - preferred and 1-2 years experience 1 year pediatric APRN experience. Exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis within preferred specialty.
\n
• Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
\n
• Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
\n
• RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
\n
• APRN board certification congruent with population and practice setting (see policy statement: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Roles and Practice Setting) Required Upon Hire
\n
• Successful completion of national board certification in one of the following:
\n
• Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) in MO & KS Required Upon Hire
\n
• Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
\n
• PNP-Primary Care will be required \n

  • candidate will have two years to enroll/be accepted in a program and five years to complete the program

• Specialty Certification relevant to unit’s patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Preferred
