Advanced RN - Perioperative/PACU Specialist
Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing exceptional perioperative and post-anesthesia care. As a PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver direct patient care using the nursing process, demonstrating clinical expertise and adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a safe care environment.
- Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide patient and family education within established guidelines to support quality outcomes and safety.
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance safety, and communicate accurate information to the healthcare team.
- Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data efficiently to ensure compliance with core measures.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, team members, patients, and families to improve outcomes and patient experience.
- Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
- Adapt positively to healthcare dynamics and pursue continuous professional development.
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Graduation from an accredited nursing program required.
Experience
At least one year of healthcare experience is preferred.
Certifications and Licenses
- Current RN license in a Compact State or the state of employment required.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Requires considerable mental focus, frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 35 lbs, and various physical movements such as turning, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Exposure to infectious and communicable diseases is frequent, with occasional encounters with hostile individuals.
