Travel Registered Nurse – PCU / Stepdown (IMC)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required | Holiday Support Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a PCU/ICU overflow unit with patient ratios of 2:1 (ICU) and 4–5:1 (PCU) in a 10-bed unit
• Perform and manage advanced hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and critical care pharmacology including IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors
• Assist providers with bedside procedures as needed, including chest tube insertion and intubations
• Manage central lines and Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) equipment; operate IV pumps and lift equipment
• Complete bedside shift report as mandatory practice; relief charge nurses are expected to perform nurse leader rounding
• Float to other units as required per facility floating policy

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience in a large facility
• Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Experience with critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proficiency with Cerner documentation system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a PCU or Stepdown unit in addition to ICU background
• Demonstrated ability to serve as relief charge nurse and perform nurse leader rounding
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a team
