Staff Accountant

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL Salary Range: $58,000-$68,000 (Depending on Experience) About The Opportunity We\'re seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for revenue reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close activities, cash receipts, bank deposits, and financial reporting support. Responsibilities Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with GAAP. Manage daily cash receipts, bank deposits, and revenue reconciliations. Support month-end close, financial reporting, and audit preparation. Assist with grant tracking, fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and annual 1099 processing. Reconcile bank accounts and deferred revenue while maintaining accurate accounting records. Partner with internal departments to resolve accounting issues and improve processes. Provide backup support for accounting functions and assist with special projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting required. Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with Sage MIP Accounting and Altru is a plus. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
