Bring your passion for supporting students and your expertise in American Sign Language to this rewarding contract opportunity as a paraprofessional working closely with a third-grade student. Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional in educational settings preferred
- Ability to work 1:1 with elementary students, tailoring communication and support
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Collaborative mindset, comfortable liaising with teachers, specialists, and families
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support as a 1:1 paraprofessional for a third-grade student, ensuring effective communication through ASL
- Assist in implementing the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) accommodations and modifications
- Foster an inclusive, welcoming classroom environment
- Support academic, social, and behavioral success throughout the school day
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other support staff
- Maintain clear and confidential documentation of student progress
- Uphold all district policies and professional standards
Enjoy a consistent schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8:45 am to 3:45 pm (with early dismissal at 3:15 pm on Wednesdays), giving you some flexibility in your workweek. In this dynamic setting, you’ll develop valuable skills as you collaborate and learn alongside dedicated education professionals. This position offers competitive hourly compensation between $22 and $28, reflecting your expertise and commitment.
