Traffic Engineer

Job Description Dewberry is currently seeking a motivated Traffic Engineer in our Owings Mills, MD office. Projects will range from local community-focused safety and multimodal projects to large freeway improvement projects. Primary responsibilities will be performing traffic engineering design and analysis related to traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, lighting, work zone traffic control, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and traffic operational analyses. Experience in all of these disciplines is not required. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of traffic engineering experience, including experience with VDOT or similar clients. Applicants must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work in groups. Responsibilities Responsibilities include design and analysis for various traffic related tasks as noted above, working in a team environment, and collaborating with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within our Transportation business unit. The candidate may also prepare design and cost estimates, meet with clients, and assist in proposal development. Required Skills & Required Experience BS in Civil Engineering or related field EIT and/or PE preferred Minimum 2 years of experience in traffic engineering MSHA, MDTA, VDOT and/or design-build experience preferred MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience required Excellent communication and organizational skills Leadership skills desirable *The salary range for this position is $87,000 to $112,000* *At this time, Dewberry will not sponsor a new applicant for work authorization.* *Dewberry is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
