Lab Technician

Safety-Kleen Systems , in Metairie , LA , is hiring for a Laboratory Technician to join their safety-conscious teams. This team member is responsible for the routine analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties. This role requires regular travel between our St. Rose and Metairie laboratory locations. The selected candidate will alternate work locations on a weekly basis, with one week assigned to St. Rose and the next week assigned to Metairie. Both facilities are located within approximately 10 miles of each other. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM; Occasional Saturday as needed. Adherence to all facility-specific waste analysis plans. Complete all paperwork associated with the analysis in a neat and timely fashion. Ensure that all work meets applicable Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) guidelines. Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with applicable OSHA regulations as well as all company Health & Safety and Compliance protocols. Review applicable laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) annually and retain satisfactory knowledge on SOP quizzes. Responsible for supply management in their area of responsibility, including proper housekeeping and best management practices. Qualifications Must be willing and able to work at both the St. Rose, LA and Metairie, LA facilities on a rotating weekly schedule. Locations are approximately 10 miles apart. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or another related science field required; Ability to review, verify, and maintain accurate records in electronic databases and tracking systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with the ability to accurately maintain laboratory records, analyze data, and prepare reports.
