Athletics - Equipment Manager

Summary Under general supervision the Equipment Manager is responsible for the management of all athletic uniforms and equipment for department teams. Responsibilities Assist department coaches in purchasing athletic uniforms and equipment. Establish, maintain, and reconcile uniform and equipment inventories, and oversee the maintenance of all inventories for the department. Oversee uniform and equipment distribution and retrieval at practice and on game day. Oversee and coordinate all game day equipment preparations and setup. Ensure that all uniforms and related apparel and equipment are maintained in a clean and serviceable condition. Oversee and coordinate the work of athletic equipment staff and/or students engaged in the day-to-day performance of related activities including laundry and equipment repair. Transport team equipment to off-site venues as needed using university vehicles. Hire, train, schedule Equipment Room Support Staff. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in sports administration, sports management, or another related field. Experience Three (3) years of experience working in an athletic department or working in equipment management. Physical & Environmental Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Exposure to outside environments, hot, dry, wet, and cold. Skills & Abilities Proven experience as an Athletic Equipment Manager or similar role. AEMA certified or ability to obtain upon hire. Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary. Ability to drive a personal or university vehicle for the purpose of university business on a regular basis. Ensure adherence to NCAA rules and institutional policies. Ability to travel when necessary. Valid driver's license required.
