Senior Accountant

Senior AccountantFoley is looking for a Senior Accountant to play a key role in strengthening and scaling our accounting operations. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role will own critical components of the close process, bring structure and rigor to complex accounting workflows, and help improve how the accounting organization operates across systems, processes, and teams.This is a high-impact individual contributor role for someone who combines strong accounting fundamentals with operational discipline, analytical thinking, and a continuous improvement mindset. You'll help drive accuracy, visibility, and efficiency across core accounting operations while supporting a finance organization that is continuing to scale.Own & Execute Core Accounting OperationsLead key components of the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysisOwn complex account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of discrepanciesSupport revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting in alignment with ASC 606Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation and support year-end audit and compliance activitiesDrive Operational ExcellenceHelp improve reconciliation, close, and reporting processes to increase efficiency, consistency, and accuracyIdentify operational inefficiencies and proactively recommend scalable process improvementsStrengthen adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation standardsSupport the accounting team in building repeatable, high-quality operating rhythms and workflowsAnalyze Data & Improve InsightAnalyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, variances, and operational opportunitiesPartner cross-functionally with FP&A and business teams to ensure financial information is accurate, actionable, and aligned across systemsAssist with reporting and analysis that supports business and operational decision-makingLeverage Systems & TechnologyUse systems, automation, and technology to improve accounting workflows and reduce manual workPartner cross-functionally to streamline data flows and improve reporting visibilityContribute to process automation and systems improvement initiatives where appropriateBring a practical, solutions-oriented mindset to improving how work gets done, including thoughtful use of AI and emerging toolsWho You Are3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a SaaS, technology, or high-growth environmentStrong foundation in GAAP accounting with experience applying ASC 606 principlesExperience owning close activities and complex reconciliation processesStrong analytical skills with the ability to work through large or complex datasetsAdvanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, etc.)Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality workClear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teamsDemonstrated ownership mindset with strong execution and follow-throughNice-to-HavesExperience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, GP, or similar platformsExposure to process improvement, workflow automation, or systems implementationsExperience leveraging technology or automation to improve accounting operationsCPA or progress toward certificationYou Might Thrive In This Role If…You enjoy creating structure and improving accounting processes and workflowsYou balance attention to detail with the ability to identify broader operational improvementsYou operate with urgency while maintaining a high bar for accuracy and qualityYou're curious, proactive, and consistently look for smarter ways to get work doneYou take pride in being a reliable teammate others can depend onYou're comfortable working in an evolving environment where processes continue to matureLocation: This role is primarily remote but requires regular in-person collaboration at our Boston office.
