What's missing is the financial system public markets spent a century building: exchanges, custodians, brokers, and ways for ordinary people to buy in. Private markets, now $28T, never had the equivalent. AngelList is building it.

The last decade of structural innovation in venture happened here: syndicates, SPVs at scale, Rolling Funds, scout programs. Today we have $200B+ in assets and 30,000+ startups funded on our platform. The rest of private markets is next. Funds is the software and services behind private funds, Nova is the banking network, Meridian is the wealth platform for accredited investors, and USVC is the brand behind a registered fund that lets anyone invest in venture.

Working here means an unusual amount of agency on a problem that matters. Titles are closer to suggestions, and there are about 200 of us building what private markets never had. Come build it with us.

About the Role: The Principal Recruiter will support AngelList’s expanding business and strategic hiring goals. The right person will be a creative and adaptable generalist, capable of earning trust and delivering successful hires for key roles across the company. Instead of focusing on a single domain (or even isolating in technical or GTM roles), the Principal Recruiter will operate function-agnostic, and should be comfortable learning about every part of the business, ramping on a broad range of roles, and partnering with all executive team members. It will be a high-impact, high-exposure role, working closely with AngelList’s leadership.

You will:

• Partner with hiring teams to build and execute on strategies to bring the best people into key roles at AngelList
• Lead with data and market intelligence to help drive decisions
• Contribute broadly: this is a role for someone who prides themselves on functional agility and strong business partnership
• Represent and elevate the AngelList talent brand on the market, including how we’re a beacon and who we attract

You have:

• 8+ years of full lifecycle recruiting experience, including some startup experience
• Ability to thrive and drive consensus and clarity in ambiguous and a fast-moving environments
• An approach that leads with business outcomes over “activity”
• Curiosity to leverage AI tools to automate day-to-day workflows and improve the speed and quality of the hiring process
• Proven track record of success competing for elite talent in a competitive environment, and history of solid relationships in the industry
• Ability to drive process and influence x-functionally to advance the ball despite any obstacles
• Enthusiasm about growth, change, action, and refinement: the market moves quickly and so should you

AngelList has offices in a few cities, New York City and San Francisco. We have a hybrid in-office model: teammates come in at least 2 days per week (Tuesdays and either Wednesday or Thursday). 

Compensation:
The compensation for this role consists of a competitive base salary, benefits, and equity package. The base salary for this role is $200,000+ annually but actual will vary based on a number of factors including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location. Full details about our Total Rewards package will be provided during the recruitment process.
