Collections Associate

Job Summary: Responsible for contacting customers in order to collect outstanding accounts receivables on orders, resolve customer billing problems, and reduce delinquency. Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities Communicates with customers to determine the reason for overdue payment and review terms of sale, service, or credit contract. Receives payments and posts amounts paid to the customer account. Documents information about the financial status of the customer and the status of collection efforts. Reviews and monitors assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports to maintain up‑to‑date customer records. Maintains clear documentation of customer contact through the collection or dispute process. Ensures timely follow‑up of open disputes is completed in accordance with service level agreements. Resolves internal and external customer non‑payment issues, invoice discrepancies, and customer payments outside of approved terms. Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor. Nature and Scope Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor. Under general supervision, exercises judgment in accordance with well‑defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor. Work Environment Located in a comfortable indoor area. Most of the time is spent sitting with frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. No travel required. Education and Experience High‑school diploma or GED strongly preferred. 2–5 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or a related field. Location Available in CA, CO, CT, D.C., HI, IL, MA, MD, MN, NJ, NV, NY, OH, RI, VT, WA. Pay Range $21.54 – $26.01 per hour.
