Master Forklift Field Service Technician

Master Forklift Field Service Technician Itasca, IL, USA Job Description We are seeking a Forklift Field Service Technician for our Itasca branch. The position is first shift, M - F, hourly (no flat rate). Field Technicians will be provided a company service van, fuel card, and required paperwork. Responsibilities include: Perform preventive maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment Diagnose and repair all forms of customer equipment Complete each repair job in a timely, efficient, and professional manner Provide exceptional customer service Work and manage workloads independently Submit all required documentation in a timely manner Maintain company vehicle and on-board parts inventory Incorporate Alta’s Guiding Principles into daily activities Perform other duties as assigned Maintain consistent, regular, and reliable attendance Compensation: $26 to $42 per hour, depending on location, skillset, education, and experience. Qualifications At least two years of forklift repair experience, preferably including military or reserve experience with MOS/NEC codes 63B, 63H, 63S, 63W, 63Y, 91B, 91H, 91L, 91M or CM Preferred previous field experience Strong knowledge of electric and liquid propane units Excellent mechanical aptitude Own tools Clean driving record and valid driver’s license to operate the company vehicle Computer proficiency with HYPASS, Hyster TKC training software, and Yale/Hyster contact management system Intermediate language skills: read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees Basic mathematical skills: add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide 10s and 100s, perform calculations with money, weight, volume, and distance Intermediate reasoning ability: apply common sense to instructions in written, oral or diagram form; handle problems with multiple concrete variables Physical Demands & Work Environment Regular standing, walking, hand use, reaching; frequent talking and hearing; occasional sitting, climbing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling Frequent bending and working from prone positions No special vision requirements Regular lifting up to 10 pounds; frequent lifting 11‑25 pounds; occasional lifting 26‑100+ pounds Work near moving mechanical parts; exposure to fumes or airborne particles; outdoor weather conditions; wet or humid conditions; extreme cold or heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration Equal Employment Opportunity Alta Equipment Group is an equal opportunity employer.
