Make your mark as a Diesel Technician - Mobile Mechanic with National Wrecker Service in Portsmouth, NH!Job Snapshot:Pay: $38/hr starting pay, plus night-call incentivesSchedule: This full-time role follows a 4-day on / 4-day off rotation, including 8am–8pm on-site shifts and on-call responsibilities from 8pm–8am during the same four days. Mechanics who live close to the central location may take their truck home for after-hours calls.Benefits: Health, dental, life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage optional, a 401(k) with company match, paid time off (PTO), and uniformsWho We're Looking For:Diesel mechanic experienceHeavy truck repair experienceKnowledge of all makes, including Cummins, Detroit, International, Hino, Isuzu, etc.Knowledge of computer diagnostics and electrical systemsKnowledge of air system diagnostics and repairsUnderstanding of steering, suspension, air brakes, and general truck systemsCurrent medical cardValid driver's license and a clean driving recordWhat You'll Do As Our Diesel Technician - Mobile Mechanic:Provide on‑site repairs and maintenance for diesel trucks and trailersWork with engines from Cummins, Detroit, International, Hino, Isuzu, and othersPerform computer diagnostics and electrical troubleshootingRepair air systems, suspension, steering components, and air brakesApply strong diesel knowledge and heavy-truck repair experience in the fieldThe Bigger Picture:For over 50 years, National Wrecker Service has delivered dependable roadside assistance and towing throughout New England.
