Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse – Texas

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Lubbock, Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with 1:5-1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios; every other weekend required; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; block schedules approved but not required; 40 hours of orientation provided

Highlights:

• 379-bed short-term acute care facility with Level II Trauma Center designation
• General medical-surgical/telemetry unit with average daily census of 27 patients across 30 beds
• Epic charting system in use; expectation to float to other acute care units within the hospital
• 13-week contract with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, and social services
• Free employee/visitor parking available in designated surface lots
• Adult and geriatric patient populations with telemetry monitoring on the unit

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact license accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent medical-surgical/telemetry experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred (at least one prior travel contract)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Required clinical competencies: blood product administration, central line care/management, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, PCA pumps, PICC line management, IV starts and maintenance, wound care/wound vac, and phlebotomy
• Ability to work flexible schedules including every other weekend
• Willingness to float to other acute care departments within the facility
• Two professional references covering one year of experience within the last three years
