The Project Manager III will work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated by the Project Manager III, and determine course of action to obtain desired results. Responsible to project and personal Heath, Safety, Environmental and Security performance excellence.Strictly follows the Kraton stage-gated capital execution work process (1KCP)Determines the resources needed by the project to execute it efficientlyIs responsible for applying sound engineering practices and ensuring code, regulatory and safety complianceLeads the project team to accomplish the scope of work and achieve project goals, schedule milestones, cost and quality objectivesEnsures that a clear and complete scope definition for each project is prepared and accepted by the project customer and stakeholdersDevelops a documented Project Execution Plan for each project which is scaled to the size and complexity of that projectDevelops a documented Construction Execution Plan for each project which is scaled to the size and complexity of that projectPrepares thorough Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) for engineering, equipment and construction activitiesWorks in conjunction with procurement to secure competitive bids using the RFP process. Prepares detailed bid analysis including cost and material break downs, Technical Bid Evaluations and Commercial Bid Evaluations to select the best bidderDetermines the resources needed by the project to execute it efficientlyResponsible for prompt recognition, documentation, and communication of scope and design changes and for client authorization prior to scope changesMaintains and tracks scope, schedule, cost and quality trends throughout the project using Microsoft Project and Microsoft ExcelEnsures the accuracy and completeness of all deliverables and services provided by the projectHolds regular project meetings and communicates regularly to keep all team members and project stakeholders up to date on the status of the project, progress against milestones, costs, schedule progress and other critical or contractual itemsRequired Skills15+ years experience as a project managerAbility to work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.Experience working on complete projectsExperience in project management and forecasting.Effective Communications Skills (verbally, written, presentation). Collaborates effectively with plant engineering, maintenance, and leadership.Able to rapidly acquire knowledge of the site(s) including chemical processes and physical layout. Willing to work at another plant location to execute projects as neededAbility to lead teams to complete objectives within defined parametersThorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS ProjectExperience with SAP or other ERP systemWorking knowledge of construction in chemical plants and ability to engage and communicate with craftspersonsWorking knowledge of OSHA 1910.119, OSHA 1926, ASME B31.3 and section IXWorking knowledge of Electrical, DCS and PLC systems as they pertain to project executionEducation, Certifications & LicensesMust possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering from an accredited college/university.
