Travel Registered Nurse OR Job

Overview Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) travel assignment in Burlington, Vermont. Start date 07/27/2026 for a 16-week contract. Shifts are 4x10-hour rotating. Weekly pay ranges from $2,870 to $3,098. This travel temporary position is based in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have OR experience at a Level 1 trauma center (500+ beds) with EPIC usage within the past two years. • Bi-weekly orientation on Mondays; no block scheduling; on-call as required by unit

Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub in general OR, GU, GYN, ENT, eyes, plastics, lap, trauma, thoracic, and vascular cases (CVOR excluded)
• Maintain sterile technique, assist with patient positioning, instrument counts, and equipment readiness; support the surgical team throughout the procedure
• Monitor intraoperative patient status, coordinate with anesthesia, and document perioperative care in EPIC
• Prepare, disinfect, and turnover OR rooms between cases; manage supplies and instrument sets for efficient case flow
• Participate in the unit’s on-call schedule (one weekday call per week and one 24-hour call every four weeks) as required; adapt to on-call needs and unit priorities

Requirements

• Active RN license in Vermont or eligibility for VT licensure
• BLS certification
• 2+ years OR RN experience in a large (500+ beds) Level 1 trauma center
• EPIC electronic health record experience within the past two years
• Ability to scrub across multiple specialties (general OR, GU, GYN, ENT, eyes, plastics, lap, trauma, thoracic, vascular; CVOR not included)
• ADN or BSN in Nursing; strong communication and teamwork skills; adaptable to rotating day/evening schedules
• Reliable transportation to Burlington area (public transit not accessible)
