It participates in the County Expense Claim Reporting Information System (CECRIS) Project, supports procurement processes, monitors contract obligations, and ensures compliance with state guidelines. The Bureau utilizes an automated time reporting system to streamline labor distribution, maintain fiscal integrity, and support financial reporting and analysis for departmental stakeholders. Job Description and Duties The Senior Accounting Officer, Specialist (SAO‑Spec) is responsible for: Conducting complex accounting transactions in the Encumbrance Unit. Completing analytical planning and oversight activities for the Encumbrance Unit. Applying state policies and rules independently to ensure compliance. Researching, writing, and presenting special reports. Leading and participating in special projects. Reviewing and analyzing incoming requests for the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) entry to determine appropriate fund coding for various transactions, including IT, Non‑IT, and payment agreements. Ensuring that all cost allocation processes adhere to federally approved methodology and align with the State’s Cost Allocation Plan.
