Job Description
Diesel Technician for a Charter Bus Company performing maintenance on a fleet of 14 buses. A qualified candidate with experience working on buses, especially motorcoaches will earn a higher wage. Once hired, specific bus brand training from our manufacturers may be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and vehicles
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and a/c systems
- Conduct inspections and perform preventative maintenance tasks
- Repair or replace faulty parts and components
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues
- Weld and solder as needed for repairs
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of work performed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, systems, and components
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools, Specifically Volvo Tech Tool, to diagnose multiplex / body builder systems, electrical / HVAC, and communicating with ECU.
- Ability to weld and solder for repairs is a plus
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and manual labor
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and customer service skills
