Senior Manager Special Events

Role Description

We’re looking for a passionate and high-impact Senior Manager, Special Events in the Northern New Jersey and Pennsylvania area to help fuel our mission of supporting and empowering the autistic community. The specific focus will be on our New Jersey Fall Classic, Third-Party events and the ability to establish a new special event in the PA area.

The ideal candidate for this role will assist in leading the charge on dynamic, revenue-generating initiatives—from large-scale signature events to innovative corporate campaigns and sponsorship activations. Have proven experience with building pipelines, strong fundraiser experience working with high wealth individuals. Have passion for the autism community, and the mission of autism speaks and will thrive in a flexible environment with a kind and compassionate culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years professional working experience
• 5+ years demonstrated leadership with focus on peer-to-peer fundraising, recruitment and management of volunteers, relationship-building, networking, budget management, and volunteer mobilization
• Proven track record of multi-functional fundraising experience: special events, multiple walk events, corporate campaigns

Requirements

• Ability to work independently to recreate and implement fundraising and volunteer development plans
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
• Organized and detail oriented
• Superb customer service skills
• Ability to prospect, recruit, manage and develop volunteers
• Strong analytical skills
• Sound judgment
• Proficiency with MS Office 365
• Database knowledge (Raiser’s Edge and/or Luminate preferred)
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to support programs and events
• This role includes travel primarily related to events, which at times can involve overnight stays; occasional travel for team meetings and conferences may also occur
• Event days include setting up and moving materials as well as being actively engaged on-site for prolonged periods
• Regular use of a computer for extended periods of time
• Must have reliable mode of transportation (automobile, valid driver’s license, and insurance is required)
