IT Field Services EngineerThe IT Field Services Engineer works at the regional office as a member of the IT team and focuses on overall support for the office, as well as the regional job sites. Face to face support will make up most of your day, troubleshooting problems related to the desktop-computing, server, network, wireless or remote environments. The position requires excellent leadership, communication, technical and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide superior support and service to a wide range of internal contacts.ResponsibilitiesMust be a self-starter and be self-motivatedAbility to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues and work with other teams to follow the issues to resolutionSupport of VIP needs and issuesServes as second level support for Help Desk requests and incidents with emphasis on medium to difficult issuesFollows and creates standard operating procedures around process and documentationRecommends and implements process improvementsResponds to job site service requests regarding installation, configuration and maintenance of internet services, firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and Audio/Visual systemsAdheres to established operating procedures as outlined in processes and documentation, and proposes enhancements.Must be able to travel frequently within the New York region and occasionally to other locations out of state.Occasional travel to regional offices or jobsites outside the New York region may be required.Additional duties as assignedQualificationsCollege degree preferred4 - 7 years' experience working in IT role including Help Desk and Hardware deployment/configuration, 2-3 years of end-user facing supportAbility to work both independently and as a member of the IT TeamSME knowledge of PC hardware and software with an emphasis on Microsoft environmentsWorking knowledge of all components of IT infrastructure including desktops, servers, routers, switches, wireless devices and mobile devicesFamiliarity with Microsoft 365 and Azure is a plusWorking knowledge of Audio-Visual technology and systemsUnderstanding of LAN/WAN administration and supportAbility to interface and service VIP's with professionalism and confidenceFamiliarity with Service Desk Ticketing software (Service Now)Proficient troubleshooting skills with the ability to isolate problem sources.Excellent customer service skillsExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenWillingness to work in a highly structured environmentAbility to work and prioritize well in a fast-paced, dynamic atmosphere, quickly tackling difficult issues with easeOutstanding time management skillsBasic project management skillsAbility to develop processes and documentationAbility to lift 50 poundsMust possess a valid driver's licenseMust have reliable transportationWorking ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing.
