Major ResponsibilitiesEvaluates laboratory, patient, financial, and quality data to identify trends and insights that improve workflows, support research, inform business decisions, and reduce cost of careLeverages integrated data sources to identify opportunities for improvement, performance gaps, and outcome measuresDesigns and implements analytical models combining clinical, financial, and claims data to generate actionable metricsSynthesizes complex datasets into meaningful insights to support leadership decision-making and lab stewardship initiativesDevelops executive-level dashboards and reporting to support laboratory strategy and performance monitoringApplies technical laboratory knowledge, including test build and clinical utility, within a data-driven environmentParticipates in assessments, implementations, and educational efforts supporting laboratory operations and data initiativesUtilizes data-driven methodologies to support Clinical Lab 2.0 and value-based care programsSupports enterprise-wide data collection, analysis, and implementation across laboratory operations and ad hoc initiativesCollaborates with service lines, corporate departments, leadership, and laboratory teams across the enterpriseAdheres to organizational policies, compliance requirements, and Code of Ethical ConductLicensure, Registration, and/or Certification RequiredNoneMLS certification HIGHLY preferred EducationBachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related fieldWork ExperienceTypically requires 3 or more years of relevant experience, including:Understanding of laboratory workflows, testing knowledge, and diagnostic pathwaysExperience with data collection, validation, and analysisFamiliarity with regulatory standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP, HIPAA)Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProficiency in clinical laboratory operations and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power BI, HL7, Python)Knowledge of LIS and EHR systemsWorking knowledge of revenue cycle processes, billing, and coding (e.g., CPT, ICD-10)Ability to collaborate with researchers to collect, validate, and de-identify complex datasetsStrong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersDemonstrated collaboration with physicians and leadershipStrong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skillsSelf-directed with a results-oriented and innovative approachHighly organized, proactive, and adaptablePhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsWorks in a normal office environmentMay travel across the enterprise as neededPotential exposure to environmental hazards including mechanical, electrical, chemical, infectious agents, and biological materials; appropriate protective measures requiredOperates standard equipment necessary to perform job responsibilitiesPreferred QualificationsCertification / LicensureMedical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) certification (ASCP or AMT)Additional certifications in billing and coding, project management, or business analysis preferredExperienceExperience with research study processes, IRB protocols, and clinical data validationMedical Lab Experience STRONGLY preferred This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent.
