Discover more at Lam Benefits Job Description Essential Function Coordinates activities related to the procurement of materials, products and services for Silfex, in support of the daily operations by performing the following duties. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Assures that the materials, products and/or services are ordered and delivered on schedule in a cost-effective manner while meeting all quality and corporate standards of the company. Maintains timely control and accuracy of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to ensure accurate retention of records through use of our ERP software. Analyzes the requirements of the material, product or service, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date needed. Solicits and evaluates proposals for the requested material, product or service. Investigates and/or interviews potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements. Advices company personnel or management on the appropriate supplier to be used. Negotiates the lowest possible cost balanced against the optimum quality and production needs. Implements purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations. Coordinates appropriate methods needed to distribute the material or product in a cost-effective manner. Tracks the performance of suppliers in quality, service, cost and delivery. Develops and maintains a working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures as appropriate. Follows all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to management. Assists in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S. Performs tasks/duties related to special projects or assignments. Performs other duties as assigned by department management. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; or a High School Diploma/GED with 5 + years’ purchasing experience. Certification as an Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.), Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or Certified Purchasing Professional (C.P.P.) is desirable. Proficiency in the use of personal computers to include knowledge in the use of the Internet and software programs such as Microsoft Office products and ERP systems. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be able to multi-task effectively in a high paced environment. Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment. Must possess strong attention to details. Must be able to perform successfully under minimum supervision. Must be able to attain sufficient task success to establish credibility with management, staff and employees. Delegation Of Authorities Personnel Authority.
