Intervention SpecialistThe Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking an Intervention Specialist at Roosevelt Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. We are Wildcats!As an Intervention Specialist you are required to:Possess or have applied for an Intervention Specialist license or have the ability to obtain a supplemental license as an Intervention Specialist issued by the Ohio Department of Education.Be flexible in your work schedule and be willing to attend/participate in professional development sessions.Be willing to serve on teams.Have the ability to relate to and teach students with diverse backgrounds.Demonstrate enthusiasm in your role.As an Intervention Specialist you will:Effectively differentiate instruction.Accurately analyze data to plan instruction that is aligned to the common core State Standards.Be able to effectively manage and instruct whole and small groups.Have experience with writing standards-based IEPs.Use research based pedagogy with excellent background knowledge of all content standards.Developing lesson plans and instructional materials and providing individualized and small group instruction to meet the needs of each student.Actively engage at-risk students in the learning process; planning and using appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students.Recognizing the needs of individual students and the entire group and offering support and flexibility as needed.Working as part of a cooperative and diverse team of educators and administrators to carry out the goals of our District.Utilizing technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.Participating in professional development activities that are aligned with district and building goals, assigned subject content and the varied needs of students.What We Offer:As a contracted employee, Intervention Specialist work 183 days per year and 7.25 hours per day. Starting salary is in accordance with the negotiated agreement, increases with experience and education. Contracted employees receive competitive benefits. All employees receive professional development. The Springfield Education Association and the Board of Education are currently working on a new professional agreement. While that is in the works, please refer to the current agreement as to pay and benefits that are in place for the 2025-26 school year. Salary details available below in the Springfield Education Association (SEA) negotiated agreement.
