Line Cook – Breakfast Shift

Schedule: 5:45 AM – 2:00 PM
Position Type: Full-time / Part-time
Primary Focus: Breakfast service, prep, cooking, and kitchen support

We are looking for a dependable Breakfast Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is primarily responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast items during morning service, completing prep work, maintaining a clean station, and helping the kitchen run smoothly from open through lunch transition.

Responsibilities

The Line Cook will be responsible for:

Preparing and cooking breakfast items according to recipes, standards, and ticket times
Setting up the line before service, including stocking ingredients, tools, and equipment
Completing daily prep such as eggs, meats, potatoes, vegetables, sauces, batters, and other breakfast items
Cooking menu items accurately and consistently, including eggs, omelets, pancakes, breakfast meats, sandwiches, and other hot items
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workstation throughout the shift
Following proper food handling, storage, labeling, and sanitation procedures
Assisting with lunch prep or other kitchen duties as needed
Communicating with servers, other cooks, and management during service
Helping with dishes, cleaning, restocking, and closing duties before the end of shift
Working efficiently during busy breakfast rushes while maintaining quality and a positive attitude

Qualifications

Ideal candidates should have:

Previous kitchen or line cook experience preferred, especially breakfast experience
Ability to work early mornings and arrive on time for a 5:45 AM start
Strong knife skills and basic food prep knowledge
Ability to cook eggs and breakfast items consistently
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Dependability, teamwork, and good communication skills
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Willingness to help wherever needed — breakfast waits for no one

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

Stand for extended periods
Lift up to 40 pounds as needed
Work around hot equipment, sharp tools, and wet floors
Bend, reach, carry, and move quickly during service

Compensation

Pay based on experience.
