Mister Mao is a tropical roadhouse opening in July 2021 on Tchoupitoulas Street.
We serve food from all around the globe. We aren't about tradition. We will never claim to be authentic, only that we cook authentically. Born from a tropical fever dream Mister Mao is about connecting people across cultures and experiences through good food and honest hospitality. The back of house team is seeking high energy, highly motivated line cooks. Mister Mao has an open kitchen concept with a chef's counter that is handled by the BOH. This means that all employees must be ready to provide excellent hospitality to guests with a professional presentation. This also means that BOH employees will enjoy the earning potential of their own tip pool along with competitive hourly rates. We seek applicants that are serious about working in the industry and strive to attain a well rounded understanding of restaurant operations. Ideal applicants will be able to fill full time positions (five days per week). Applicants must be friendly, accommodating and available to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
