Salary: $235,000–$365,000
A leading national law firm is seeking a junior Construction Associate Attorney with 2–5 years of construction law experience to join its New York office. The Associate Attorney will work closely with experienced construction attorneys on nationally significant projects and gain exposure to both construction transactions and dispute resolution.
The practice advises clients throughout the full lifecycle of construction and infrastructure projects, from project conception through closeout. Responsibilities will include:
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex construction, license, and design-related agreements
Preparing and negotiating owner-contractor, owner-architect, and construction management agreements
Handling engineering, consulting, access, commissioning, procurement, and other project-related contracts
Advising clients on construction and infrastructure projects
Supporting project counseling and contract negotiations
Assisting with construction-related disputes, claims avoidance, and risk management
Supporting litigation and arbitration matters
Coordinating with project teams, owners, developers, contractors, design professionals, and governmental entities
Participating in complex negotiations and providing practical legal guidance throughout projects
The Associate Attorney will have the opportunity to work on high-profile developments involving healthcare facilities, educational institutions, hospitality assets, data centers, transportation and infrastructure projects, mixed-use developments, governmental facilities, and other large-scale capital projects. The role also provides meaningful opportunities for direct client interaction, project team coordination, and mentorship from experienced construction attorneys.
Qualifications2–5 years of relevant construction law experience
Experience with large infrastructure projects preferred
Prior experience with contract drafting and negotiation, project counseling, and construction disputes preferred
Strong academic credentials
Excellent legal writing skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
New York Bar admission required, or ability to waive in
