A Personal Injury Attorney represents individuals who have been physically or psychologically injured due to the negligence or wrongdoing of others. This role involves advocating for clients to secure compensation for damages such as medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. The attorney manages cases from investigation through resolution, providing legal guidance and negotiating settlements or representing clients in court as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to evaluate claims related to personal injury.
- Investigate and gather evidence to support cases.
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Negotiate settlements with defendants or insurance companies.
- Represent clients in court hearings and trials.
- Advise clients on legal rights and obligations.
- Manage case files and maintain client communication.
- Keep abreast of changes in personal injury laws and precedents.
