Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Cardiac PCU/Stepdown Telemetry unit requiring 1+ year of PCU or stepdown experience and MI RN licensure.

Details

• 225-bed specialty care hospital with a Level 2 Trauma designation
• Cardiac IMCU / Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with 36 beds
• Cardiac and stepdown patient population including chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre and post open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular issues, and CHF
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
• Uses telemetry monitoring equipment
• Charts in Cerner EHR
• Night shift 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 12-hour shift schedule
• Works every other weekend
• Floating required
• On-call only when census is low

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown nursing experience required
• Associate degree in Nursing required
• Experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips required
• PCU/stepdown and low-level ICU skills preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac and stepdown level patients on a telemetry unit
• Strong teamwork skills required to collaborate effectively with unit staff
• Scrub color required is blue or navy; blue jeans not permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time while on assignment
