Accounts Payable Specialist

The Colt Group was founded in 1981 and is headquartered in Pasadena, TX Job Overview: The Staff Accountant will work as part of the accounting team. The ideal candidate will be organized and detail-oriented with the ability to effectively communicate with internal partners. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Accounts Payable Support Enter vendor invoices in accounting system, ensuring correct general ledger and cost center coding prior to recording all transactions and attach vendor invoice to invoice record in NetSuite Maintain a monthly trend schedule of all utilities, communicating any significant variances to Controller Reconcile vendor statements to ensure completeness of internal vendor records General Accounting Complete monthly bank reconciliations Manage corporate credit card program Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations Participate in monthly closing process Organize and file annual 1099 Forms Manage property tax renditions and payments Assist with inventory cycle counts Assist with pricing analytics Maintain a monthly schedule of use tax due with supporting documents for filing Provide audit and tax support as needed Other projects assigned Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance 1-2 years of related experience Ability to work independently and multi-task An urgency for deadlines and detail-oriented Strong written and verbal communications skills Intermediate level or higher MS Excel skills NetSuite or other ERP experience a plus Colt is an equal opportunity employer and considers candidates regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
