Sourcing ManagerHybrid - 3 days/week in Boston, MA Duration: 12+ Month Contract Industry: Biotech/PharmaPosition SummaryThe Strategic Sourcing Manager will support a commercial organization by leading strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier management, and contract negotiations across a broad portfolio of commercial services. This role will partner closely with Procurement, Legal, Finance, and business leaders to ensure continuity of critical initiatives during a leave of absence. The ideal candidate is an experienced strategic sourcing professional who can independently manage complex sourcing events, negotiate commercial agreements, and build trusted relationships with stakeholders in a fast-paced pharmaceutical or life sciences environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end sourcing initiatives from intake through contract executionDevelop sourcing strategies aligned with business objectivesConduct market assessments and supplier evaluationsManage competitive RFPs, RFIs, and RFQsPrepare executive recommendation materialsSupplier Relationship ManagementManage strategic supplier relationships across assigned categoriesSupport supplier governance meetings and performance reviewsMonitor supplier performance, risks, and continuous improvement opportunitiesPartner with business stakeholders to resolve supplier issuesContract NegotiationLead commercial negotiations for SOWs, MSAs, amendments, and renewalsNegotiate pricing, commercial terms, service levels, rebates, liability provisions, and other contractual termsCoordinate with Legal, stakeholders, and Procurement throughout contract executionStakeholder PartnershipServe as the primary strategic sourcing partner for commercial stakeholdersProvide sourcing guidance throughout project planning and executionManage multiple concurrent projects while balancing competing business prioritiesInfluence decision-making through data-driven recommendationsFinancial ManagementIdentify cost savings and value creation opportunitiesPerform pricing analyses and market benchmarkingDevelop negotiation strategies to optimize commercial outcomesTrack sourcing pipelines and realized savingsCross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with:CommercialLegalFinanceThird-Party Risk ManagementProcurement OperationsCompliancePreferred Category ExperienceMarket ResearchPatient Support ServicesData & AnalyticsMeetings & EventsSales OperationsField Force ServicesHealth Economics and Outcomes ResearchQualificationsBachelor's degree7–10 years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management experienceExperience leading complex sourcing eventsStrong contract negotiation experienceExperience managing strategic supplier relationshipsExcellent executive communication skillsAbility to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneouslyPreferred QualificationsPharmaceutical or biotech industry experienceCommercial procurement experienceFamiliarity with procurement systems such as Coupa, Icertis, Ariba, or similar platforms
