Duties, Responsibilities & Other This position is for an underground foreman with a minimum of 4-8 years of underground experience in open trench. Work with construction manager for in-field project set up Lead and direct 4-man crew to safely complete projects. Select and implement appropriate maintenance of traffic signage and follow safety precautions. Identify potential safety hazards. Create a corrective action plan when safety hazards are recognized. Administer monthly safety meetings. Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications. Understand as-built drawings, roadway plans, and create legible field sketches. Possess leadership and mentoring skills. Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance tasks. Must have a mechanical aptitude. Experience placing underground cable a plus. Perform other duties as assigned. Preferred Candidate Qualifications Know Miss Utility Law. Minimum 4 years of underground excavation and shoring experience. Operate and maintain mini excavators. Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical card for Commercial Motor Vehicle operation within 30 days. Having a current Commercial Driver's License is a plus. Qualifications Education and/or Skills Required Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience Education and/or Skills Preferred Highschool Diploma/GED Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required Valid Driver's License Ability to maintain required certifications.
