SHIPBUILDING SPECIALIST

Job Title

The duties of this position include:

Developing repair specifications and government estimates in support of various shipbuilding contracts.

Reviewing and evaluating contractor proposals for the purpose of providing input or negotiating labor and material costs.

Planning repairs, conducting research, procuring materials, estimating man hours and material requirements, and negotiating final tasking to accomplish timely completion of repairs.

Monitoring contractor's cost control systems during contract performance and recommending cost approval or disapproval.

Reviewing contract specifications, drawings, technical manuals, and design test requirements to determine and evaluate contractor compliance, progress, and work quality.
