Insurance Defense Trial Attorney

Represent clients in all areas of insurance defense practice Manage primarily low to moderate complexity and exposure cases from intake to resolution Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs Attend hearings, conferences, interviews, mediations, arbitrations, and trials Proactively inform leadership of case-handling opportunities and challenges Consult with the Claims Department on legal aspects of files and jurisdictional issues Perform tasks and duties to ensure efficient case management Handle second-chair trials and trials involving moderate complexity or exposure Support senior attorneys on cases with greater complexity or exposure Receive developmental assignments involving high-complexity or high-exposure matters Requirements Licensed to practice law in applicable states required upon hire Bachelor's degree preferred Three years of insurance defense litigation and/or personal/bodily injury experience preferred Second-chair trial experience strongly preferred Multistate jurisdictional practice preferred Public speaking ability Ability to handle high caseloads in adversarial or confrontational situations Driving ability Strong verbal communication and listening skills Excellent written communication skills Effective negotiation skills Demonstrated conflict management skills Ability to represent the company with external constituents Excellent judgment and decision-making skills Time management and priority-setting skills Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines Strong technical aptitude Proficiency using technology in a virtual, paperless environment Ability to travel to required in-person appearances Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in insurance defense litigation, including case management from intake to resolution, and possesses strong verbal and written communication skills essential for effective representation and negotiation.
