Youth Ceramics Instructor

Join our amazing team as a Youth Ceramics Instructor. This position is responsible for teaching assigned classes in a designated program area, within established program guidelines and while providing the proper guidance and support for each participant. Class instruction may vary based on level of expertise of students/attendees and age range of students/attendees. May instruct classes for children through adult age. Demonstrates commitment to the Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of the District.Pay & Schedule:$25.00-$35.00 Per HourTuesdays 7:00 PM - 8:30 PMSundays 10:00 AM - 11:00 AMAdditional hours as classes increase enrollmentDuties & Responsibilities:Develops and implements lessons or schedule supporting the established program curriculum.Actively engages all students and provides support and constructive feedback.Tracks attendance records and documents student progress, when required.Prepares students for end of session shows as needed.Arrives before class start time to inspect instruction space, set-up equipment and supplies if needed and greet students.Regularly updates Supervisor on the condition of the teaching space and equipment.Plans and organizes class routines, projects, when required.Diligently follows and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.Collaborates with internal and external customers in a positive manner.Follows safe work practices.Attends trainings and meetings as required.Performs related duties as assigned.BenefitsAll employees are eligible for the Recreation Benefits usage, which includes discounted and/or complimentary services.To view job description, click here.Degree from four-year college or university with major course work in the subject area being taught or supplemented by four (4) years teaching experience or experience working in the program area; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the following knowledge, ability and skills.Skills & AbilitiesLead and interact positively with children and adultsTeach through demonstration of specific subject matter being taughtCan work independently and efficientlyCommunicate effectively both orally and in writingWork with co-workers and the public in a professional manner during stressful situationsBecome CPR/AED CertifiedKnowledgeThorough knowledge of subject material being taughtHands-on experience working with childrenDistrict safety policies and proceduresPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
