Job Description Summary Are you a marketing guru in the making? We’re on the lookout for a savvy and data-driven Marketing Student Assistant to be the driving force behind our groundbreaking initiatives and campaigns at the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications. As the Marketing Student Assistant, you’ll be at the forefront of our marketing endeavors, collaborating with the team to bring campaigns to life. From researching media buys to crafting eye-catching dashboards, your role is pivotal in ensuring the success of our projects. This is the perfect role for an analytical, strategic thinker with a flair for marketing who’s looking to gain more industry experience. Specific Duties Assist in creating cumulative marketing dashboards that leverage data and insights from Cognos, Slate CRM , and Google Looker Studio. Provide support in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns, ensuring timely delivery and effective implementation. Assist in collecting and analyzing marketing data to evaluate campaign effectiveness, glean insights for optimizations, and assess return on ad spend. Evaluate advertisement opportunities in collaboratiojn with Director of Marketing to support university and college initiatives. Conduct competitive anaysis to benchmark University of La Verne programs and current advertisements, and identify opportunities for growth. Research and identify suitable advertising channels, such as social media platforms, websites, and traditional media outlets. Collaborate with the creative services department to develop compelling ad creative materials that resonate with the target audience. Ensure that all advertising activities comply with the university brand identity and industry standards. Other tasks assigned by staff within the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications. Minimum Qualifications Working experience with Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Understanding of basic marketing principles, including the marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion), market research, and consumer behavior. Familiarity with digital marketing channels such as social media, email marketing, content marketing, and search engine optimization ( SEO ). Ability to conduct market research, including competitor analysis, target audience profiling, and trend analysis. Enrolled in a graduate degree program in marketing, business, communications, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Benefits Summary One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours. University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan – can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds. In accordance with the Affordable Care Act ( ACA ), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.
