Financial Controller

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a finance professional who can combine technical accounting expertise, strategic financial leadership, and hands-on operational management . The Controller will work closely with the CFO and executive leadership to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, compliance, internal controls, and long-term financial strategy. The ideal candidate will bring experience in manufacturing , strong financial leadership skills, and preferably a background in clean energy or renewable energy . Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Strategy Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial planning. Partner with the CFO and executive leadership on financial performance, capital allocation, and risk management. Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and support company growth. Provide actionable financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Develop and maintain strong internal controls. Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data. Manage external auditor relationships and coordinate annual audits. Treasury & Cash Management Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and capital structure. Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and investment activities. Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll functions. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements. Monitor regulatory changes and evaluate their financial impact. Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks. Maintain strong accounting policies, procedures, and controls. Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team of approximately 8–12 professionals . Establish performance goals and promote accountability. Build a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Provide hands‑on financial leadership across the organization. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. CPA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent advanced credential. 10+ years of progressive finance experience. 4+ years in a Director, Controller, Senior Manager, or comparable leadership role. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience managing budgets exceeding $10 million . Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis skills. Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar . Demonstrated experience working with manufacturing organizations . Experience working with investors and/or fundraising or capital‑raising initiatives . Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in clean energy, renewable energy, energy technology, or a related industry . Experience in a publicly traded or private equity‑backed organization. Experience with M&A due diligence and integration. Experience leading finance transformation initiatives. Experience supporting high‑growth or technology‑driven organizations.
